The concrete bug bit me early on. Back in the day I had an uncle who worked for the local ready mix plant and whenever I saw one of their trucks I would grab my bike and try to follow them to wherever they were going to pour. This was in the late seventies.

“In January of 2005 I was at the World of Concrete in Las Vegas when I saw Buddy's crew working on a vanity top with integral sink at the outside demos. I was curious about this project and spent plenty of time meandering around their booth watching the process. I knew that this was going to be taking me in a new direction when I returned home and in March of 2005 I began Appalachian Concrete Designs. After the initial taste of concrete countertops in Vegas I signed up for a two day hands on workshop with Buddy in San Francisco, this turned out to be some of the best training that I ever received. Since then my full time job has been concrete countertops and thanks to quality workmanship and great clients my business has grown steadily over the past 3 years. I look forward to helping you create a centerpiece for your home or business, something that is truly one of a kind and created with your help and insight. Give concrete a touch and you'll have a new appreciation for a time tested material!
