There is a saying when life gives you lemons make lemonaide. I got into custom concrete when I bought my house in Hawaii a few years ago. I had the ugliest driveway on the block. I hired a crew to come put an epoxy/portland mix of concrete over it and stamp it. They broke a sledge hammer 30 minutes into the job, left and never came back. So I did the job myself. This lead to a keen interest in countertops, so I attended a Buddy Rhodes workshop in San Francisco. I had so much fun - and my counters turned out great. I started doing a few jobs for friends, and that led to more of a commercial venture.

I now live between Hawaii and Hood River, Oregon. I have a small nursing agency, Island Nurses on Oahu, and keep the creative juices alive with Genuine Concrete.  Most of my time is spent in Hood River helping people bring their vision to life in their kitchen and home. We also work in the Portland, OR area.
